Why choose Zoo2U?

What to look for when choosing an Animal Encounter Company.

Zoo2U has decades of experience working with exotic animals, which means every aspect of your animal encounter is first class. However in this industry cheaper isn't always better! Read below to find out more.

Zoo2U is a trading name of Holmes Chapel Zoo Limited and is licenced to operate as a Zoo. This means they are inspected to the same standards as all UK Zoo's. This includes such large zoo's as Chester Zoo!

There are many animal encounter companies throughout the UK. Some claim to offer a lot for a little price, however there are some important questions that you should be asking when deciding who to use.

Zoo2U Buy With Confidence Certified

Does the company have the right certification?

At the very least you should expect any company in this industry to have Public Liability Insurance (PLI), risk assessments, a performing animals licence and an animal transporters licence.

Zoo2U has all of the above and more including trading standards approved certification. Please ask and they will be happy to present them to you.

Can you trust the staff? Are staff DBS checked?

We all want to know that the people we work with or invite to functions or even our homes can be trusted. A DBS check can give you peace of mind.

Zoo2U staff have all been fully DBS checked and will happily produce the certificates upon request.

Voluntary Work / Work Experience

Volunteers play a very important role within Zoo2U as they assist our staff and provide excellent customer service, which in turn helps with the success of the business.

Zoo2U welcomes volunteers to assist in our daily care and upkeep of our animals. We can also offer voluntary positions in marketing and business studies. We are a small family run business so you may find that you are asked to carry out duties that appear unrelated to the voluntary position.

Volunteer support is vital as it allows us to carry out additional, but important tasks such as behavioural observations or creating new enrichment ideas.

Volunteers must be aged 18 or over and will be required to obtain a DBS check. Please be aware that there is a high demand for volunteer places and limited availability.

What's in it for you?

As a volunteer, you will gain valuable experience in a growing business while working with animals, which will enhance your CV. You will also have the chance to meet lots of new people, make new friends, gain new skills and also do something perhaps completely different in your spare time!

In return, we ask that you commit to Zoo2U for at least 6 weeks if not longer. This ensures the training you receive can be put to good use.

Volunteer - Keeper Team

Our animal collection includes a variety of animals including Invertebrates, Reptiles, Birds and Mammals. Unlike most zoo’s, we take a hands on approach to the majority of our animals. Volunteers will work closely with the animal keepers to assist in the daily duties involved with caring for our animals.
